Korea Association of Machinery Industry establishes exhibition specialist 'KOAMI Messe'
A dedicated exhibition company has been established to strengthen the competitiveness of South Korea's machinery and manufacturing industry trade shows.
The Korea Association of Machinery Industry (KOAMI), chaired by Park Sang-hyun, chief executive of Doosan Enerbility, announced Sunday the launch of KOAMI Messe.
KOAMI Messe is wholly owned by KOAMI and will be led by inaugural chief executive Ryu Tae-sung, a veteran of Coex. The company is designed to serve as a "global exhibition platform" providing comprehensive support for market development and technology exchange across the machinery and manufacturing sectors. It will operate major domestic industrial trade shows including AMXPO (Asia Machinery & Manufacturing Expo), KIMEX (Korea International Machinery Exhibition) and KOFAS (Korea Factory Automation Show).
AMXPO, the flagship brand of KOAMI Messe, is pivoting this year to showcase cutting-edge technologies and solutions for the future of manufacturing. The show, set to run Oct. 21-23 at Kintex in Goyang, will put four megatrends of future manufacturing at the forefront: autonomous manufacturing, physical AI, smart factories and humanoid robots.
This year's edition will be co-hosted with the Korea Association of Smart Manufacturing's "Industrial AI Expo." The event aims to go beyond simple equipment displays to spread an AI-driven manufacturing innovation ecosystem across industry and share a vision for the machinery and manufacturing sector, with plans to position it as a "global business hub" for generating results with international buyers.
Ryu spent more than 30 years at Coex, gaining experience across exhibition planning, venue marketing, public relations and international cooperation. During his tenure, he is credited with successfully planning and running some of South Korea's most prominent manufacturing industry trade shows, including what is now known as Automation World and ROBOTWORLD.
"We will expand participation from outstanding domestic and international companies and attract more global buyers so that businesses can generate tangible results," Ryu said.
