Solid electrolyte particles refined to submicron level with precision
Certification expected to boost final product performance and yield
Lotte Energy Materials announced Tuesday that its "high-efficiency micronization manufacturing technology for sulfide-based solid electrolytes using ketone-based dispersants" has received New Excellent Technology (NET) certification from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
The NET certification system is operated by the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards, an agency under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, to identify and certify domestically developed new technologies at an early stage, promote their commercialization and establish their technical credibility.
In the first round of NET certifications for 2026, seven technologies were selected across fields including electronics and electrical engineering, with Lotte Energy Materials' technology among those recognized.
The certified technology uses ketone-based dispersants to produce sulfide-based solid electrolytes as uniform fine particles while preserving the material's crystal structure and ionic conductivity — a high-efficiency micronization process technology.
The technology minimizes particle agglomeration and material degradation that can occur during the grinding process, enabling high-yield, high-quality production.
Through this technology, Lotte Energy Materials said it has achieved precision micronization of solid electrolyte particles down to the submicron level while maintaining high ionic conductivity with minimal performance degradation.
Applying the technology improves the performance and yield of the final product, raising production efficiency and cutting manufacturing costs — developments the company said would allow it to accelerate its entry into the solid electrolyte business.
"This NET certification is highly significant in that our technology for micronizing sulfide-based solid electrolytes and maintaining their performance has now received official validation," a Lotte Energy Materials official said. "We will continue to strengthen our competitiveness in next-generation battery materials through high-value-added sulfide-based solid electrolytes."
