Prime Minister nominee Han Sung-sook, who previously owned four homes, has sold three of them and now owns just one, the confirmation hearing preparation team for the Prime Minister's Office announced Tuesday.
Han sold two additional properties to complete the transition to single-home ownership, the preparation team said.
On Tuesday, Han sold an officetel in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, for 1.5 billion won ($977,000). On Monday, she sold a country house in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province, for 500 million won. The sale dates are based on the date of final payment.
The Yeoksam-dong officetel sold for about 570 million won below its acquisition price, while the Yangpyeong country house sold for 280 million won below its purchase price. The preparation team said the transfer of ownership for the Jamsil apartment — sold earlier — was completed May 27.
"I feel the weight of responsibility that comes with senior public office and will lead by example in carrying out the government's real estate policy," Han said.
