Gunwi-gun holds retirement ceremony for long-serving civil servants

Gunwi-gun in Daegu held a retirement ceremony Monday at the county office's main conference room to mark the close of the first half of 2026.

About 100 people attended, including Gunwi-gun County Chief Kim Jin-yeol, the two retiring civil servants, their families and colleagues.

The honorees were Jang Pan-cheol, director of the planning and audit office, and Park Hae-gyeong, head of the infectious disease management team at the county health center's public health administration division — both of whom served in public office for 34 years.

"The path you have walked quietly as public servants over so many years is the history and pride of Gunwi-gun's administration," Kim said. "I hope the second chapter of your lives shines just as brightly as the dedication you have shown."
