BPA, 5 other public institutions hold 'Integrity Live' event in Busan

Busan Port Authority (BPA) announced Wednesday that it co-hosted "Integrity Live" with Wavve, an ethics management council of Busan-based public institutions, at Camco Maru in the Busan International Finance Center in Nam-gu, Busan, on Tuesday.

Wavve — whose name evokes the idea of "raising waves of integrity" — is a council of six Busan-based public institutions: BPA, Korea Housing Finance Corp., Korea Southern Power, Korea Fisheries Resources Agency, Korea Asset Management Corp. and Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corp.

The event opened with a "Blooming Integrity" ceremony in which representatives of each institution pledged commitment to six values: responsibility, transparency, trust, fairness, honesty and respect. It then continued with a performance-centered program designed to help employees grasp the meaning of integrity in an accessible and engaging way, featuring pansori, a special lecture on integrity in everyday life and a taekwondo performance. About 200 employees from the participating institutions attended and reaffirmed their commitment to practicing integrity.

"Integrity is a vital value that underpins the trust placed in public institutions," BPA President Song Sang-geun said. "We will continue working with Wavve member organizations to spread a sound culture of integrity throughout the local community."
