Korea Ocean Business Corp. said Thursday it will release a teaser for its new YouTube video series "Ocean View: Korea Through the Sea" at 6 p.m. Friday, with the three-episode main series airing every Wednesday at 6 p.m. starting July 1.
The state-run maritime agency, known by its Korean acronym Haejingong, developed the series in collaboration with Kim Bobby, an economics and current affairs content creator with about 180,000 subscribers, as global supply chain instability has persisted amid tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea. The goal is to make maritime, logistics and economic issues more accessible and to deepen public understanding of the maritime industry.
Kim uses everyday examples familiar to the public to explain complex supply chain issues in an intuitive way, illustrating how changes originating at sea affect the broader economy and daily life.
The series consists of one teaser, three main episodes and 10 short-form clips. The main episodes cover the concept of maritime supply chains and recent global trends, the impact of supply chain shifts on domestic industries and the shipping market, and the corporation's efforts to build a maritime supply chain monitoring and early-warning system.
Key issues related to maritime supply chains and the Strait of Hormuz featured in the videos can be explored further through regular and special reports available on the corporation's maritime information service website.
"We will proactively respond to supply chain risks through our maritime supply chain monitoring and early-warning system, while continuing to raise awareness of the maritime industry through diverse content," said Korea Ocean Business Corp. President Ahn Byung-gil.
