TKG Huchemis, led by CEO Kim Woo-chan, will acquire Kosdaq-listed AprilBio in partnership with IMM Investment and IMM Asset Management.
The acquisition is the latest expansion by Huchemis, which founder Chairman Park Yeon-cha took over. Having acquired semiconductor components maker Solmix last year, the group is now extending its reach into biotech.
A group official said the move was "an extension of the group's consistent strategy of gradually entering future industries based on the core competitiveness of each affiliate."
