Korea Maritime and Ocean University holds Geumhwa Scholarship certificate ceremony for spring semester

Korea Maritime and Ocean University held the Geumhwa Scholarship Foundation certificate ceremony for the first semester of the 2026 academic year at its main building on Thursday.

Eleven people attended the event, including Kim Gyeong-hwa, dean of student affairs, and Lee Gwang-su, head of the student welfare division, along with scholarship recipients. A total of 24 students received 45.6 million won ($29,600) in scholarships for the first semester of the 2026 academic year.

Lee A-ryeon, a student in the Department of Ocean Science Convergence who received a certificate, said she was "deeply grateful for the meaningful support from the Geumhwa Scholarship Foundation" and pledged to "dedicate myself to school life and my studies to live up to the foundation's generosity and expectations."

Kim, the dean of student affairs, expressed deep gratitude to the Geumhwa Scholarship Foundation for its "unwavering support for our students' dreams over many years" and encouraged recipients to "carry the spirit of this gift in your hearts and grow into people who contribute to society."
