Gyeongbuk Health University beauty students complete industry field trip to Japan

The Beauty Design Department at Gyeongbuk Health University ran a "Global Talent Development Overseas Industry Field Trip" program in the Kyushu region of Japan from June 22 to 25, the university announced Sunday.

The program was designed to strengthen students' international awareness and practical skills by exposing them to the latest technology, production systems and hands-on operations in the global beauty industry.

Students and faculty from the department took part in the trip, visiting the Shiseido factory in Kurume — one of Japan's leading cosmetics companies — where they observed cosmetics manufacturing processes, smart factory operations and quality control systems.

Students examined automated production lines and quality management systems firsthand, gaining an understanding of the advanced manufacturing technology and quality standards that define the global cosmetics industry.

The group also participated in a hands-on training session at Kraemer Japan, a professional beauty education institution, focused on Japanese hair color trends and styling techniques.

Through demonstrations by local experts and question-and-answer sessions, participants learned Japanese beauty techniques and industry know-how, picking up the latest skills in color and styling and gaining direct exposure to professional practice in the global beauty sector.

Gyeongbuk Health University President Lee Eun-jik said the school would continue expanding exchanges with overseas industry partners and educational institutions to offer students a wide range of programs that build their hands-on global capabilities.
