Daegu Health College hosts STAR+ Future Innovation Forum on AI-driven biotech

Daegu Health College's New Industries STAR Project Group hosted the STAR+ Future Innovation Forum on June 25 at Room 515 of Yeonma Hall, as part of the New Industries Specialized Leading College Support Project 2.0.

The forum was organized to share the latest trends in biotech and AI convergence technology and to explore strategies for securing core competencies in emerging bio industries.

Lee Seon-jae, a professor at KAIST's Graduate School of Engineering Biology, delivered a keynote lecture titled "The Era of Bio Innovation: Where Biotech Meets AI."

The lecture covered the development of bio foundation models combining large-scale biological data with large language models, as well as the latest research trends in AI-driven new drug and vaccine development.

Kim Ji-in, head of the New Industries STAR Project Group and vice president for external affairs and a nursing professor at the college, said the institution would continue running education programs sharing the latest technology and industry trends so students can build the capabilities to respond proactively to changes in future industries.
