Ansan Urban Corporation announced Tuesday it will run a summer ecology education program for children called "Go! Eco Water Rocket Special Unit (Operation: Urban Forest Seed Dispersal)" during the upcoming school vacation.
The program will visit locations requested by participating organizations, making use of a children's traffic safety experience center and nearby parks.
Children will use water rockets to disperse native plant seeds, install plant name tags and document plant growth — hands-on activities designed to teach them about the value of nature and ecosystems.
Two teams from participating organizations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
The corporation said it hopes the program will help children learn scientific principles alongside ecology, build an awareness of environmental conservation and carry that awareness into everyday eco-friendly habits.
