Damyang-gun will run a special hometown tax donation event linked to its digital tourism resident card service from July 1 to July 21.
The "Damyang Digital Tourism Resident Card" offers tourists visiting Damyang discounts at 49 businesses across five categories — accommodation, food and beverage, sightseeing, hands-on experiences and shopping. The service launched June 8 after being selected through a Korea Tourism Organization open-call project.
To participate, applicants must make a hometown tax donation of at least 100,000 won (about $65) to Damyang-gun during the event period, obtain a Damyang Digital Tourism Resident Card through the "Corners of Korea" app or website, and submit an application via a Naver form.
The donation and card issuance can be completed in either order. Those who have already obtained the card are also eligible by making a donation during the event period.
The first 100 applicants will each receive a Naver Pay points voucher worth 10,000 won.
Donors can take advantage of a range of benefits: a full tax deduction on the 100,000 won donation under the hometown tax donation program, a return gift valued at 30,000 won, free admission to Damyang's public tourist sites, discounts through the digital tourism resident card, and the event prize.
