Hwaseong completes semiconductor and electronic components specialist training program

Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun) held a graduation ceremony Sunday for its 2026 Future Technology School Semiconductor and Electronic Components Specialist Training Program at the Business Lounge of the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Support Center in Dongtan District.

The Future Technology School is a youth employment project launched in 2024 with provincial government funding to cultivate specialized talent for advanced industries. The program provides practical, field-oriented education and on-site training linked to the region's strategic industries.

Twenty unemployed young residents from the city took part in the program. Over four weeks, participants completed hands-on, industry-focused coursework covering semiconductor process theory, component design practice, tours of eight types of process equipment, and job-readiness training. Nineteen of the 20 completed the full program.
