Daegu Health College's health administration department earns 2nd-cycle accreditation, first in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province

The health administration department at Daegu Health College has become the first program in the Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province region to receive second-cycle accreditation from the Korea Health Information Management Education Evaluation Institute, the college announced Monday.

The accreditation runs for five years, from March 1, 2027, through Feb. 29, 2032.

The health information management education accreditation system is designed to ensure that curricula are built around an outcomes-based framework and that institutions continuously improve and maintain education quality.

The department satisfied all 61 evaluation criteria — six mandatory items and 55 standard items — demonstrating excellence in curriculum management.

Evaluators gave particularly high marks for curriculum operation and outcomes management, student support systems, and sustained efforts to improve education quality.

"This accreditation reflects the hard work that students and faculty have put in together to raise the quality of education," department chair Lee Go-eun said. "We will continue to do our best to develop skilled health information management professionals who meet the demands of the healthcare field through systematic curriculum management and ongoing quality improvement."
