Hwayoung donates marine engine training equipment to Korea Maritime and Ocean University

Hwayoung Co., a specialist in marine engine components, donated educational training equipment worth 50 million won ($32,400) to the Maritime College of Korea Maritime and Ocean University as a development fund contribution.

The company presented the equipment at a donation ceremony held June 22 at the KSA Lounge of the Maritime College building, saying the gift was intended to nurture future talent in the maritime sector. Hwayoung CEO Kang Chang-won and Kim Jong-su, dean of the Maritime College, were among those who attended.

The donated equipment will be used directly to strengthen the practical training and research capabilities of Maritime College students.

Founded in 1978, Hwayoung has built a distinctive track record in eco-friendly and electronically controlled advanced marine engine systems. The donation is expected to allow students to learn about the latest industry trends in a more practice-oriented educational environment.

"We are delighted to offer meaningful support to students at Korea Maritime and Ocean University — the cradle of Korea's maritime professionals — drawing on the advanced technology we have accumulated over the past 45-plus years," Kang said. "We will continue to lead the development of eco-friendly marine engine technology and contribute to the growth of our local community and the cultivation of future talent."
