Gwangmyeong Mayor Park Seung-won said Tuesday he would work to spread a culture of integrity throughout the city government, creating "a clean Gwangmyeong that residents can feel and that public servants can take pride in."
The city held an anti-gapjil and anti-corruption integrity training session Tuesday at the main conference room of City Hall, targeting civil servants at the sixth grade and above.
The session was divided into two groups — fifth-grade and higher officials, and sixth-grade civil servants — to improve effectiveness and tailor communication to each rank.
Participants responded positively to presentations built around concrete examples of "behaviors to avoid" and "the right mindset for a public servant," aimed at fostering a workplace culture of mutual communication, empathy and consideration across ranks.
Following this session for sixth-grade and above staff, the city plans to hold an additional integrity training for seventh-grade and lower employees in late July.
