BNK Financial Group publishes 2025 sustainability report

BNK Financial Group said it has published its 2025 Sustainability Report, detailing the group's ESG management initiatives and key achievements.

According to BNK Financial Group on Tuesday, the report comprehensively covers major activities and outcomes across the environmental, social and governance pillars, as well as the group's responses to key ESG issues including sustainable finance, climate change, natural capital and human rights management.

This year's report focuses in particular on presenting a more systematic account of the group's "BNK-style sustainable finance" strategy and its results.

BNK Financial supports the growth of regional economies and industries through productive finance, inclusive finance and green finance, building a virtuous cycle in which value created through financial services flows back into local economies and communities. The group has also expanded financial support for key regional industries such as shipbuilding, maritime and logistics, along with support for the transition to a low-carbon economy, while actively promoting a maritime finance ecosystem tailored to the characteristics of the Busan, Ulsan and South Gyeongsang region.

Through these efforts, the group said it is strengthening finance's social role and contributing to a foundation for the sustainable growth of regional economies.

The report introduces a new "Sustainability in Focus" section spotlighting the group's core sustainable management strategies and achievements across six areas: BNK-style sustainable finance, leadership in the maritime finance ecosystem, promotion of productive finance, future digital and IT innovation, a green finance virtuous cycle, and shareholder value enhancement.
