Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce donate $26M ahead of reported secret wedding

Pop star Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce donated $26 million (about 40.4 billion won) ahead of their reported secret wedding, as a US entertainment outlet reported the couple had already legally married.

The Associated Press reported Wednesday (local time) that Swift and Kelce donated a total of $26 million (about 40.4 billion won) to 20 local and national charities, including the New York City Food Bank, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

The recipients are based in cities with personal ties to the couple — Kansas City, home of Kelce's NFL team; Pennsylvania, where Swift was born; Nashville, where she launched her music career; Los Angeles, where the two spend much of their time; and New York, where their wedding is planned.

City Harvest, one of the recipient organizations, called the donation "a love letter to New York" and said it came "at a critical time when federal budget cuts have driven New York food bank visits to record highs."

Meanwhile, entertainment outlet Page Six, citing multiple sources, reported Wednesday that Swift and Kelce had exchanged vows before a small group of close family and friends and were now legally married.

The intimate ceremony reportedly took place recently in Tennessee. Flight-tracking websites showed Swift's private jet had stopped in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Tampa — cities where Swift's and Kelce's families live — before returning to Nashville over the past weekend.

"They are already married," one source said. A separate figure in the music industry said Nashville was buzzing with the news, adding that the two were "already legally husband and wife."

However, a Manhattan City Hall official said there was no indication that Swift had recently filed for a wedding license in New York.

The couple's wedding has drawn attention as a large-scale, closely guarded event is being prepared at Madison Square Garden in New York.

According to an internal New York Police Department document, the event is Taylor Swift's wedding. It is set to begin Thursday evening with a rehearsal dinner for 100 guests, followed by a full ceremony Friday for 1,000 attendees.

Ed Sheeran and Paul McCartney are among those expected to attend, though further details have not been made public.
