Gangdong-gu Hosts Tailored College Admissions Fair for Exam Takers

Seoul's Gangdong-gu, led by District Mayor Lee Su-hee, will host the "2027 Academic Year Career and College Admissions Fair" at Gangdong Arts Center on Aug. 4.

The fair was organized to help current high school seniors and recent graduates prepare for university entrance exams. This year marks the last admissions cycle under the existing nine-tier grading system before a major overhaul of the college admissions regime takes effect.

Park Kwon-woo, a teacher at Ewha University-affiliated High School and a public education admissions specialist, will lead a session on university entrance strategies. He is also the author of the college guidance book "Subak Meokgo Daehak Ganda."

The fair will also operate one-on-one consultation booths staffed by admissions officers from major universities and specialist college counseling teachers.

A total of 26 universities — ranging from major Seoul-area institutions to regional national universities — will participate in the admissions officer consultation booths. A dedicated booth for medical school programs will also be available to help students map out application strategies suited to their grades and career goals. Alongside this, one-on-one sessions with specialist counseling teachers affiliated with the Korean Council for University Education will be offered to provide advice tailored to each student's circumstances.

"I hope students use this fair to build a college entrance strategy that fits them, even as the admissions landscape continues to change," District Mayor Lee said. "We will keep providing tailored education support for our students."
