SK Telecom launches three Google AI Plan tiers on T Universe platform

SK Telecom has launched Google AI Plan, a subscription service that gives users access to Google's AI features.

SK Telecom announced Thursday that it is offering the Google AI Plan subscription service through T Universe, its subscription platform.

Google AI Plan provides higher usage limits for Google's latest AI features and models, along with expanded cloud storage. Specific features include Gemini, Nano Banana, NotebookLM, and Gemini within Google apps such as Gmail and Google Docs.

The lineup comprises three tiers: Google AI Pro, Google AI Plus (2TB) and Google AI Plus (400GB). SK Telecom said the launch gives T Universe the most diverse Google AI Plan lineup among domestic carriers and subscription platforms.

SK Telecom is offering Google AI Plus (400GB) — the entry-level tier of the Google AI Plan — exclusively through T Universe at a discounted price. The company said it is the first subscription platform in South Korea to offer an entry-level AI subscription product.

In addition, any T Universe customer can subscribe to Google AI Plan at a discount of up to 2,100 won per month off the standard price, regardless of carrier.

Google AI Pro is available at 26,900 won ($17) per month, 2,100 won off the standard price. Google AI Plus (2TB) is available at 10,900 won per month, a 1,000-won discount, and Google AI Plus (400GB) at 6,900 won per month, a 600-won discount.

SK Telecom also prepared benefits for its own customers. Subscribers to the new Best Pro and Best Max rate plans, launched Wednesday, will receive bundled AI and streaming benefits in a single package.

Customers on those plans can pair Google AI Plan with one of five streaming services — YouTube Premium, Netflix, Disney+, Tving or Wavve — as an additional benefit.

"We expect customers to use AI services on more reasonable terms through the Google AI Plan subscription on T Universe," said Lee Seung-ha, head of product at SK Telecom. "SK Telecom will continue to expand practical benefits that customers can feel firsthand."
