Rounds 12 and 13 to be held Saturday and Sunday at Shanghai International Circuit
Official electric racing tire 'iON Race' to be supplied for all competitors
Hankook Tire & Technology announced Friday that the 2026 Shanghai E-Prix — rounds 12 and 13 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship Season 12 — will be held as a double-header in Shanghai, China, on Saturday and Sunday. Hankook Tire serves as the exclusive tire supplier and official partner of Formula E, the world's premier electric vehicle racing series.
The races will take place at Shanghai International Circuit, a world-class motorsport venue designed by renowned circuit architect Hermann Tilke. The 3.051-kilometer track combines 12 corners with long, high-speed straight sections.
Hankook Tire will supply its official Formula E electric racing tire, the iON Race, throughout the event. The iON Race is optimized for the next-generation GEN3 Evo electric racing machine, which reaches a top speed of 322 kilometers per hour and accelerates from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 1.86 seconds.
During the event, Hankook Tire will operate a Fan Village inside the circuit to engage with motorsport fans from around the world. The company will offer a range of interactive programs — including racing simulators, live performances and a game zone — and will display its iON lineup, the world's first full-range tire brand dedicated exclusively to electric vehicles, alongside the iON Race tire.
Meanwhile, Hankook Tire has been actively expanding its product lineup to meet diverse consumer needs. The company recently launched new size specifications for front-axle tires for mid-to-large cargo trucks in the domestic truck and bus tire segment.
