Seo Jeong-hun, CEO of Taegang Construction Industry, described the company's recent business conditions in an interview Thursday. Even amid persistent uncertainty in the construction sector, he said, the company has consistently invested in securing technological competitiveness and expanding its business scope.
Taegang Construction Industry is a construction firm that has grown around civil engineering works and facility maintenance. It has built expertise across a range of areas, including earth-retaining temporary structures, roads, rivers and ports, water and sewage systems, residential land development, sewage treatment facilities, water purification plants, and the maintenance of bridges and other structures.
A string of new contracts has recently materialized, turning the company's long-pursued projects into tangible results. Taegang is also advancing patent-related procedures with the goal of applying them to projects in the second half of the year, as it works to strengthen its technological edge. The company's policy is to focus on stable growth grounded in technology and a solid business base, rather than aggressive expansion in scale.
Seo received a minister's award from the Ministry of Employment and Labor at the 4th Korea Children's Award ceremony, held June 20 at the aT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, in recognition of his contributions to promoting children's policy.
He said the recognition has renewed his commitment to policy promotion and social contribution activities for children and youth. He added that fulfilling social responsibility alongside business growth is a core value of sustainable management.
Taegang Construction Industry also continues its social contribution activities in support of the local community. The company has maintained regular sponsorship for workers at disability care facilities and consistently provided support to help them work in more stable conditions.
Drawing on its ties with the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office, the company also takes part in youth guidance and scholarship programs, contributing scholarship support and protective activities for local youth as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts.
