Ulsan's Buk-gu opens Gangdong campus to expand lifelong learning access

Ulsan's Buk-gu district announced Monday it has opened a Gangdong Campus of its Lifelong Learning University at the Gangdong Culture Center in Gangdong-dong, part of an effort to bring lifelong education programs closer to where residents live. The initiative is linked to the district's lifelong learning city specialization project. Last year, the district opened a Nongso Campus at the Women's Happiness Customized Center in Nongso 2-dong.

The Gangdong Campus has launched a tourism and environment department reflecting local character, including the development of the Gangdong tourism complex, and has begun operating an AI-based public relations training course with a capacity of 20 students.

Buk-gu is pursuing a district-based campus project that develops specialized programs tailored to each neighborhood's population structure and industrial environment, providing residents with university-level lifelong learning opportunities near their homes. A Yangjeong-Yeompo Campus is set to open at the Buk-gu Lifestyle Culture Center in August.

"We will continue to provide residents with high-quality lifelong education content through the Buk-gu Lifelong Learning University district-based campus project, building a lifelong learning city where every resident can benefit from lifelong education," a Buk-gu district official said.
