Police hunt author of social media post threatening to kill President Lee Jae-myung

Police are tracking the author of a social media post threatening to kill President Lee Jae-myung.

The Hyehwa Police Station in Seoul said Monday it is pursuing the person who posted a message on social media stating they would kill President Lee Jae-myung "on Monday, July 6."

The author is believed to have posted the same threatening message five times on their social media account at around 6:30 a.m. Monday.

At around 9:30 a.m., the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency received a report that a post threatening to assassinate President Lee Jae-myung had appeared on social media and assigned the case to the Hyehwa Police Station.
