Gangnam-gu (district mayor Kim Hyeon-gi) is accepting open applications from textbook publishers for its 2027 Gangnam Ingang lecture program from Monday through July 23.
Proposals will be accepted from July 20 through July 23, with submissions due by 6 p.m. each day.
Gangnam Ingang is a public online education platform that has provided learning content to students across the country since its launch in 2004. It has signed agreements covering more than 800 textbook titles and produces and operates courses based on them. Students can choose from courses built around materials from a range of publishers and use them to keep pace with school curricula, prepare for school-based exams, and pursue self-directed study.
Drawing on that experience running textbook-based courses, the district plans to identify additional high-quality materials that reflect changes in the national curriculum and evolving student demand.
The call covers textbooks for middle school preparation, middle school, high school, and lifelong learning. Applications will be evaluated on marketability, suitability for lecture use, and member demand, among other criteria.
Selected textbooks will be produced as Gangnam Ingang course content and made available to students nationwide. The platform will also link course pages directly to purchase options for each textbook, making it easy for students to find and buy the materials that match their courses. Publishers, in turn, will be able to promote their titles to learners across the country through the public platform.
The district also plans to pursue joint promotional campaigns with partner publishers, including course-completion challenges, enrollment events, and special promotions. The initiative aims to boost student engagement by marketing courses and textbooks together, while giving publishers ongoing promotional exposure and opportunities for continued collaboration.
The full recruitment notice is available on the Gangnam-gu district office website and the Gangnam Ingang homepage. Publishers can refer to the announcement for details on the schedule, required documents, and evaluation criteria.
"Gangnam Ingang has grown into an education partner that provides students with high-quality learning experiences," district mayor Kim said. "We will produce outstanding textbooks as Gangnam Ingang content to broaden students' learning choices, and we will further strengthen the platform's public mission so that anyone can access quality educational content."
