Sangju city in North Gyeongsang Province will operate a children's water park festival called "Super Summer Festival" at Bukcheon Citizens' Park from July 25 to Aug. 16, the city announced Wednesday.
This year's water park will feature the "Super Giant Water Slide," the main attraction offering a thrilling ride from a height of 6 meters, along with a deck pool for water play.
The venue will also offer a range of amenities, including a reading and rest area, an air-conditioned rest space, and shower and changing facilities.
To ensure safe operations, more than 20 lifeguards certified in CPR will be stationed at the site at all times, and the city will maintain strict facility and water quality management to prevent accidents.
The water park will be closed every Tuesday. On all other days, it will operate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a temporary suspension from 1 to 2 p.m. for facility inspections and safety checks. Hours will be extended to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis at the venue, and admission may be restricted once the simultaneous capacity of 450 visitors is reached.
"We hope this becomes a place where children on summer vacation can create happy memories with their families close to home," said An Yun-jeong, head of Sangju's women and children's happiness division.
