Hanul Nuclear Plant Provides Cooling Cost Support for Energy-Vulnerable Residents in Uljin-gun

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's Hanul Nuclear Power Plant presented 29 million won ($19,000) in cooling cost support for energy-vulnerable residents of Uljin-gun at the Hanul headquarters visitor center Wednesday, channeling the funds through the Community Chest of Korea's North Gyeongsang Province chapter.

The funds were raised through Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's community support initiative, a program aimed at strengthening welfare institutions and volunteer organizations in Uljin-gun.

The support expands the beneficiary pool by 100 households compared with last year. Of the total, 9 million won will go to 12 social welfare facilities in the region, while 20 million won will be distributed to 400 energy-vulnerable households across 10 towns and townships.

"I hope this support, however modest, helps people get through the sweltering summer," Hanul plant chief Lee Se-yong said. "We will continue to explore universal welfare measures so that more people can benefit going forward."
