Singer and actor Jeon Young-rok has shared a harrowing account of a dangerous stunt he performed during a film shoot years ago.
Jeon appeared Friday on KBS 1TV's morning talk show "Achim Madang" alongside Kim Seung-mi, Hye Eun-i and Nam Gung-ok-bun.
That day, Jeon said he performed a 15th-floor jump himself, without a stunt double, for the 1985 film "Dol-ai."
"There were no stunt performers back then," he said. "They said there was no one as small and slight as me, so I had to do it myself. They hung me from a single piano wire and lowered me down."
He then described how the stunt went wrong. "The speed was so fast that the piano wire snapped. It broke somewhere around the third floor and I fell — but they had laid out ramyun boxes and an advertising balloon to cushion the landing," he said, leaving the audience stunned.
He drew laughs by adding, "The movie was called 'Dol-ai' — what could I do?"
