A man who cheated on a national technical certification exam using AI-equipped glasses has been summarily indicted, it has emerged.
The Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office said Tuesday it had summarily indicted a man in his 40s, identified only as A, last month on charges of violating the National Technical Qualifications Act.
A is accused of wearing AI glasses — prohibited inside examination halls — when he sat for the fire protection engineer certification exam on May 15.
A proctor grew suspicious of A's behavior, including the way his eyes moved rather than focusing on the test paper, and caught him cheating on the spot.
After receiving the case from police, prosecutors petitioned the court to issue a summary order — a procedure in which a fine or penalty is imposed through a written review alone, without a formal trial.
If either the defendant or the court objects, the case proceeds to a full trial.
