Park Soo-hyun attends 5th South Chungcheong Women Entrepreneurs Convention: 'Will ensure benefits reach everyone'
South Chungcheong Province Governor Park Soo-hyun held his first meeting with women entrepreneurs since declaring his "Connected South Chungcheong" vision.
Park attended the 5th South Chungcheong Women Entrepreneurs Convention in Asan on Wednesday, where he encouraged participants and congratulated organizers on the event.
The event was organized by the South Chungcheong chapter of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association under the theme "Women enterprises growing through technology, connecting through sensibility." About 200 people attended, including Park, chapter president Kim Yang-hee and women business owners from across the province.
The program featured a capacity-building lecture for women entrepreneurs, a screening of a video on the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association, an address by Park, presentations of outstanding women-run business cases, commendations for meritorious contributors and a tour of product exhibition booths.
Park expressed gratitude for the efforts of women entrepreneurs, noting that roughly 140,000 women-owned businesses in South Chungcheong Province account for about 40 percent of the province's 340,000 businesses total and make a significant contribution to the local economy.
He said that, amid the AI transformation drive of the ninth elected-term administration, "we will look after South Chungcheong's women-owned businesses carefully so they can lead the AI era through technological innovation and benefit from it equally."
Park closed by saying he would "work to support the AI transition of women-owned and small and midsize manufacturing businesses, strengthen management stabilization funding, and help them break into global markets and open new sales channels."
