RESCENE wins first music show trophy two years after debut despite dialect controversy

Girl group RESCENE claimed its first music show win two years after debut, despite a recent dialect controversy involving member Wonyi.

RESCENE took the top spot on SBS Life music program "The Show" on Tuesday with its remake single "Pretty Girl," marking the group's first No. 1 on a music broadcast since its debut.

Accepting the trophy, the members said: "We love Remaine so much. We hope this trophy can be even a small source of hope for those chasing their dreams. We'll keep running and giving our best — please watch over us warmly and we'll work hard." Remaine is the group's fandom name.

"Pretty Girl" was the title track of Kara's second mini-album, released in 2008, and has remained a beloved classic. RESCENE preserved the bold charm of the original while amplifying the song's fresh appeal with a breezy new arrangement.

RESCENE debuted in 2024 and recently drew wide attention after a clip from member Wonyi's personal YouTube channel went viral on short-form platforms — a moment in which member Minami shouted "Geoje, yahoo!" that quickly became a meme.
