Yeungnam University of Science and Technology signed an MOU with Daegu's Nam-gu district office Wednesday to establish a standing education system aimed at strengthening community-based integrated care capacity under a local care learning initiative.
The signing ceremony was held at a meeting room on the second floor of the Nam-gu district office. It was attended by university President Lee Jae-yong, other university officials, Nam-gu District Mayor Jo Jae-gu and staff from relevant departments.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will work closely together to build and operate a permanent education framework for the community care learning program.
The university will draw on its health and welfare departments — including social welfare services, nursing, physical therapy and dental hygiene — to develop field-oriented curricula and establish an education system with direct participation from specialist faculty in each discipline. The goal is to raise the professional skills and practical competencies of local care workers.
The program is designed to move beyond one-off lectures and event-driven training, centering instead on targeted, needs-based education tailored to the characteristics of care recipients and the demands of the field.
The program will serve a broad audience, including civil servants in charge of care services, workers at medical and welfare institutions, representatives of civic organizations and local residents.
Through a multidisciplinary approach that draws on the strengths of each department, the university will help build the practical education infrastructure needed for community-wide integrated care and provide field-centered professional training.
