Rahan Hotels has launched a summer program combining a cruise tour and local one-day craft classes. The package pairs an evening cruise with daytime craft sessions, offering visitors a hands-on taste of South Jeolla Province's culture.
Hotel Hyundai by Rahan Mokpo has partnered with major attractions including the Mokpo Maritime Cable Car, Yeongam International Kart Racing Circuit and Haenam Sani Garden, and built on those ties to develop a summer-exclusive local experience program.
The evening "Cruise Fireworks Tour" package sets sail at around 7:30 p.m., taking guests past Samhakdo, Yudalsan and Mokpo Bridge while they watch a fireworks show from the deck. The package includes one night's accommodation, two tickets for the Samhakdo cruise fireworks tour and a noon late checkout. Breakfast is optional. The program runs through Aug. 17.
The daytime "Local Experience One-Day Class" runs in collaboration with Misulgwan Arae and Yedameun, two programs under Yeongam Gwangwangdure, a community business cooperative of Yeongam residents. The Aug. 1 session offers two workshops: making a leather passport case and embroidering a natural-dyed crossbody phone bag. Participation fees are 30,000 won ($20) and 40,000 won, respectively, and the first five teams to make advance reservations receive a 50 percent discount.
Choi Go-eun, a manager in Rahan Hotels' integrated marketing team, said the hotel drew on the strong response to a local experience program it launched in April with the Korea Tourism Organization's Gwangju-South Jeolla branch and Yeongam Gwangwangdure. "We designed this summer program so guests can enjoy a hotel staycation alongside the rich charms of South Jeolla Province," she said. "We will consistently introduce content that goes beyond simple accommodation and raises the value of domestic travel."
