Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service to hire 274 new staff in second half — largest intake in 3 years

The Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service will hire 274 new employees in the second half of this year, the largest intake the agency has conducted in three years.

The recruitment drive is aimed at expanding the workforce to ensure the smooth rollout of major policy initiatives, including an income-based overhaul of the employment and industrial accident insurance application and assessment system set to take effect in January, and a reduction in processing time for occupational disease claims.

The agency plans to use the large-scale intake to handle the increased workload expected from the insurance system reforms and to improve the speed and quality of services for injured workers, including compensation and rehabilitation.

Applications will be accepted online through a recruitment portal from Wednesday to Aug. 19. Candidates will then go through a selection process involving document screening, written examinations and interviews.

Final results will be announced Nov. 24. Successful candidates will be appointed as hired interns starting Dec. 14 and converted to full-time employees after a three-month performance evaluation.

The agency will assess applicants based on the competencies required for each role and select candidates through a fair and transparent process.
