Busan Bank runs voice phishing prevention campaign at Dadaepo Beach

BNK Busan Bank announced Monday that it conducted a voice phishing and electronic financial fraud prevention campaign jointly with the Financial Supervisory Service at Dadaepo Beach on Aug. 7 and 8, during the 30th Busan Sea Festival.

The campaign was organized in partnership with the Financial Supervisory Service to protect residents from voice phishing scams at a local festival site that draws large crowds during the summer holiday season.

Bank staff provided visitors with practical fraud prevention information, including common voice phishing tactics, steps to take if targeted, and guidance on malicious app installation schemes — such as fake wedding invitations, mobile billing notices, undelivered parcel alerts and bogus fines. The bank also distributed desk pads containing fraud prevention tips and phone stickers printed with voice phishing reporting numbers.

A low-income financial support center that opened this year also took part in the campaign, offering information on various financial support programs and services available to residents with limited means.
