The Korea Billiards Federation will hold the family billiards festival "2026 K-Billiards Q-Festa" at the Joeun Achim HRD Center in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province, from Monday through Wednesday.
Now in its fourth year, the event will draw 116 participants, including families of players in the federation's youth K-Billiards i-LEAGUE. The federation has continued the event to extend the billiards experience — which often begins with a single young player — to the whole family, and to establish the sport as a shared leisure activity for parents and children.
A team of 12 instructors made up of players and coaches — including Park Se-jeong (North Gyeongsang Province Billiards Federation), Heo Chae-won (Seoul Billiards Federation) and Kwon Bo-mi (Gangwon Province Billiards Federation) — will lead sessions in which family members pick up a cue together. Ku Bon-gil, a gold medalist in the men's team sabre fencing event at the Olympics, will share his experiences as a national team athlete with participating families at a talk concert.
On the final day, a mini billiards tournament will be held based on skills learned during the lessons. A range of summer camp-style programs will also be on offer, including recreational activities, performances and a campfire.
"Q-Festa is an event that expands one child's billiards experience into one shared by the whole family," the federation said. "We hope that the experience of parents and children picking up a cue and enjoying the game together will lead to lasting family participation in billiards and the growth of a new leisure culture."
