A new tool offers a clear window into Gangnam-gu District Mayor Kim Hyun-gi's commitment to reconstruction and urban renewal projects in the district.
Gangnam-gu has installed a "reconstruction progress management dashboard" in the district mayor's office, allowing officials to monitor the status of all 103 redevelopment projects in the area at a glance and respond quickly to factors causing delays.
The district held a demonstration of the dashboard in the mayor's office on Monday, reviewing its key functions and operational plan.
The dashboard is part of the "Gangnam Reconstruction Acceleration Project," a flagship policy of the ninth elected-term administration. It was built to establish a management system in which the district mayor can check the progress of each redevelopment project at any time and respond swiftly to matters requiring coordination between departments.
The dashboard's main screen displays the status of all redevelopment projects in Gangnam-gu by type. The 103 sites covered include 53 reconstruction projects, two redevelopment projects, 10 remodeling projects, 34 small-scale redevelopment projects and four market redevelopment projects.
Detailed progress management functions have been applied first to the 53 reconstruction sites. The main screen shows progress by zone and stage, the annual ground-breaking schedule for the ninth elected term, and key pending issues. Selecting an individual site brings up a project overview, its current stage and upcoming schedule.
The system also features site search, delay flagging and delay-factor tracking. These tools allow officials to identify behind-schedule sites early and expedite coordination among relevant departments. Based on operational results, the district plans to extend the detailed management functions in stages to other project types, including redevelopment and remodeling.
Public information services are also being strengthened. A new "Reconstruction Information" menu has been added to the Gangnam-gu website, with a direct link to Seoul Plan Plus (+), the Seoul Metropolitan Government's integrated redevelopment information platform. Through this menu, residents can access information on reconstruction, redevelopment and small-scale redevelopment projects across the district in one place.
A dedicated "Reconstruction Tax Guide" page has also been created, consolidating complex tax information that arises during the reconstruction process. It provides guidance by tax category — covering property tax, acquisition tax and capital gains tax — along with frequently asked questions and case examples, making it easy for residents to find the tax information they need.
A customized text alert service for key redevelopment project milestones is also being offered. Residents can sign up to receive alerts for their chosen area or zone of interest, covering public notices, official decisions, resident briefing schedules and major announcements.
"Through the progress management dashboard, I will personally monitor the status of each project and the factors behind any delays, and make necessary decisions quickly," district mayor Kim said. "I will also ensure that residents can check the progress of redevelopment projects accurately and in real time by providing all the information they need."
