Regional air carrier Sum Air is offering up to 50 percent off August tickets on its Gimpo-Sacheon route through Aug. 14 as part of a summer promotion called "Sum Air, Summer Sale."
Customers can apply the promotional code "SUMVACAY" when purchasing tickets through the Sum Air website or mobile app. Tickets for Saturday, Aug. 15, and Monday, Aug. 17 — which fall during the public holiday period — are excluded from the discount.
Alongside this, Sum Air will give away Sacheon city tour bus passes to 50 passengers. Travelers can claim the passes at the Sum Air counter inside Sacheon Airport by presenting proof of travel. The "Sacheon Sarang City Tour" is a bus tour program operated by the city of Sacheon, running five themed routes: a sea tour, a five-senses experience tour, an Yi Sun-sin Victory Road tour, an aerospace industry tour and a starlight tour.
A separate event offering Sacheon tourism character keyrings begins Aug. 14. Sum Air passengers who visit the Aerospace Museum and the Sacheon Sea Cable Car and post a photo and review on social media will be eligible to receive — on a first-come, first-served basis — a keyring featuring one of Sacheon's official mascots: "Ddoa," "Roki" or "Koba," awarded at random.
A Sum Air official said the promotion was designed for travelers looking to spend their summer vacation in Sacheon — reachable from Gimpo in about an hour by air — as well as in the wider western South Gyeongsang Province area, including Tongyeong, Geoje and Namhae, all within an hour of Sacheon Airport.
