The Andong-type Job Creation Project Team at Gyeonguk National University held a graduation ceremony and achievement-sharing event for its 2026 local tour product planning course on Friday at Annak, a local culture base in Andong.
About 20 people attended the ceremony, including Jung Nak-hyeon, director of the project team's convergence education center, along with researchers, instructors and participants.
The course drew on Andong's tourism resources to give participants a grounding in the tourism industry and current travel trends. It combined field visits and expert mentoring with team-based planning exercises, through which participants developed their own tourism products and content specific to Andong.
The 12 graduates were all residents of Andong aged 39 or under. Their curriculum covered regional tourism and local tour planning, analysis of Andong's tourism resources, case studies and idea development, route design and tourism experience design, storytelling and content planning, and expert lectures with in-depth refinement of project proposals.
Song Jun-hyeop, head of the Andong-type Job Creation Project Team, said he hoped participants would "go beyond simple lecture-style learning to discover new possibilities for Andong tourism through the experience of understanding the region and connecting it to travel products."
