The Korea Power Exchange forecast electricity demand for the second week of August (Aug. 10-14) at 92.9 to 96.7 gigawatts, a range that would exceed the season's current peak of 95.321 GW set Friday. With summer vacations drawing to a close this week, industrial output is expected to rebound and lift demand further. Should the heat wave and tropical nights persist, demand could surpass the all-time record of 97.115 GW.
