Home and living company Lock&Lock has unveiled two new products, including a microwave-safe stainless steel container called MicroReady.
The MicroReady uses anti-spark insulation coating technology to block electromagnetic waves, allowing users to heat food in a microwave without worrying about sparks, the company said. Internationally accredited testing agency SGS verified the product's safety and durability through 100 rounds of repeated microwave heating tests. The container also features ceramic coating on both the interior and exterior, giving it strong corrosion resistance and a fingerprint-resistant surface for easy handling. A specialized coating process prevents residual abrasives from transferring to food, the company added.
"Some people are reluctant to use stainless steel containers in the microwave out of fear of sparks," a Lock&Lock official said. "After three years of research and development with external electromagnetic wave experts, we were able to bring MicroReady to market."
Lock&Lock also launched the All Tritan One-Touch, a container made entirely of Tritan material from body to lid. It features a one-touch clip-style cap that opens with a single motion. Tests detected none of seven types of bisphenol compounds, making it safe for everyday use, the company said.
The container is lightweight with a transparent body, making it easy to check and manage stored ingredients at a glance. Antibacterial material is applied even to the silicone packing for greater hygiene. Opening the one-touch cap also activates a steam vent, allowing the container to go directly into the microwave without removing the lid, the company added.
