Dongguk University WISE Campus earns A rating in educational innovation for 3rd consecutive year

Dongguk University WISE Campus announced Tuesday that it received A ratings in both the educational innovation performance and self-performance management categories of the 2026 University Innovation Support Project evaluation.

The assessment reflected a range of achievements, including reforms to the academic system to expand students' freedom in choosing majors, AI-based classroom innovation, efforts to strengthen student learning competencies, and the establishment of a systematic performance management and feedback framework. The campus earned an A rating in the educational innovation performance category for the third consecutive year.

In the educational innovation category, the campus supported students' major exploration through events such as a major fair and a career and job fair, while also easing transfer requirements and introducing a mandatory modular curriculum completion system.

The campus also expanded students' autonomy in selecting majors by operating a system that allows major assignments for up to 100 percent of the incoming class capacity, reflecting demand from students in the open major selection program.

In addition, the campus continued to develop and refine adaptive learning through an AI-based remote instruction system, and supported student learning competencies through a study methods colloquium and a learning experience platform.

"Achieving an A rating in the educational innovation performance category for three consecutive years, and also receiving an A in self-performance management, is the result of the collective efforts of all university members toward educational innovation and performance management," said Ryu Wan-ha, president of Dongguk University WISE Campus. "We will actively incorporate the improvements and supplementary measures identified in the evaluation into our second-year project to further advance our educational innovation outcomes."
