TWICE's Chaeyoung denies indoor smoking allegations: 'I'm not that thoughtless'

TWICE member Chaeyoung has denied allegations that she smoked indoors, saying she has been wrongly accused.

"I was just going to stay quiet, but so many people keep bringing up the cigarette thing, so I'll address it," she wrote Wednesday on her fan platform. "It's not a cigarette — I'm drinking a beverage. Look closely."

Chaeyoung doubled down on her denial, expressing frustration. "I'm so tired of this. I was just having fun," she said. "Does that even make sense? There were so many people around — would I really do that out in the open? I'm not that thoughtless."

The video at the center of the controversy had been circulating in online communities. In the clip, Chaeyoung is seen from behind repeatedly bringing something held in her hand to her mouth. The footage was reportedly filmed when she attended an FKA Twigs rave party at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul.

Some online users alleged she had been smoking indoors.

Meanwhile, Chaeyoung debuted with TWICE in 2015 and has been loved for a string of hit songs including "OOH-AHH하게," "CHEER UP" and "TT."
