Shinhan Life hosts 'Kids Festa' for employees' children during summer break

Shinhan Life held a "Kids Festa" event Thursday at Shinhan L Tower in Jung-gu, Seoul, inviting more than 50 children of employees to mark the summer school break, the insurer announced Friday.

The event was designed to give elementary school-aged children of pre-registered employees a chance to tour their parents' workplace and strengthen family bonds.

On the day of the event, children arrived at the office with their parents, visited floors throughout the headquarters and exchanged greetings with staff. President Cheon Sang-young personally welcomed the children, handed each a gift package and joined them for a special lunch in the company cafeteria featuring dishes popular with kids.

The afternoon program included an "AI space science magic show" and a hands-on session with a national paper-airplane champion. The children also visited the Korea Financial History Museum in Gwanghwamun, where they explored the history of Korean finance and the evolution of currency, deepening their interest in the financial industry where their parents work.

Shinhan Life consistently runs family-inclusive programs — among them family sports outings and a camping festival — to boost employee satisfaction and foster a family-friendly workplace culture. Last year, the company was named one of the "2025 Outstanding Work-Life Balance Companies in Korea," an award co-hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and other major government agencies and business organizations. The insurer also operates flexible working arrangements, a mandatory PC-off policy and a half-day leave system, and in 2024 received a family-friendly organization certification from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.

"We hope the Kids Festa gave children a precious chance to understand where their parents work, and gave employees a chance to create lasting memories with their families," a Shinhan Life official said.
