Haenam-gun is recruiting about 30 residents to review campaign pledge implementation plans from a public perspective, aiming to boost transparency and credibility in pledge fulfillment.
Haenam-gun, in partnership with the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters, is accepting public applications for its "2026 Haenam-gun Citizen Evaluation Panel," a program designed to examine 9th-term campaign pledge implementation plans from a residents' perspective and enhance the transparency and credibility of pledge fulfillment.
Applications will be accepted from Wednesday through Sept. 18. Residents aged 18 and older are eligible to apply. First-round candidates will be selected through a combination of random sampling via an automated response system and online applications submitted through the Haenam-gun website using Google Forms. Finalists — approximately 30 in total — will then be chosen following telephone interviews.
Selected panel members will review the 9th-term campaign pledge implementation plans from a resident's standpoint, examining the content, direction and feasibility of each pledge's action plan. They will also submit opinions on the plans, ensuring that residents' voices are incorporated into the planning process.
By operating the citizen evaluation panel, Haenam-gun aims to move beyond internal administrative review alone, allowing residents to directly examine and comment on pledge implementation plans in order to strengthen the plans' objectivity, completeness and public credibility.
"The citizen evaluation panel is a civic participation system through which residents carefully review campaign pledge implementation plans from their own perspective and offer a wide range of opinions," a county official said. "We hope for broad interest and participation so that we can raise the quality of the pledge implementation plans based on residents' input and pursue pledges together with the community."
