Daegu Haany University healing industry program shares outcomes of Cheongdo-linked curriculum

The Department of Healing Industry at Daegu Haany University held a results presentation and feedback session Aug. 10 for its "Future Convergence Healing Specialist Training Program Linked to Cheongdo Regional Specialized Industries," sharing educational outcomes focused on solving local challenges by connecting Cheongdo-gun's regional resources with the K-MEDI healing industry.

The program was organized as part of the university's "Girin Challenge Semester Advanced Course," with 24 adult learners from the Department of Healing Industry taking part.

From July 4 to July 27, students underwent intensive instruction and hands-on training over eight nights and 12 days at field sites in Cheongdo, identifying local issues and planning and testing solutions using their specialized knowledge.

Under the guidance of professors Kwon Ki-chan and Kim Hyeong-geun, students investigated Cheongdo's regional resources — spanning agriculture, tourism, culture and health welfare — and carried out three projects linking those resources to the healing industry.

Kwon Ki-chan, head of the Department of Healing Industry, said the program "demonstrated that university-level professional education can lead to solving real local problems and creating new industrial value."
