The Doosan Engineering & Construction Weave golf team announced Thursday that it has released an official team anthem — "We've Got Everything" — performed by the players themselves, a first among professional golf teams in South Korea.
Eight players on the squad — Yoo Hyun-ju, Yoo Hyo-ju, Lee Yul-lin, Park Gyeol, Lee Se-young, Kim Min-sol, Park Hye-jun and Lim Hee-jeong — took part in the recording during the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association's off-season break, connecting with fans in a new way beyond the fairways.
The rock track features an upbeat, hopeful melody and puts to music the team's long-held "one team" philosophy — the idea that players in an individual sport like golf can still lean on and trust one another.
Unaccustomed to the recording environment, the players unanimously agreed that "singing is harder than golf," yet they divided up their parts, practiced and monitored each other's takes with enthusiasm. The finished song carries each player's unpolished, distinctive voice along with a genuine effort to connect more warmly with fans.
Rookie Lee Se-young said she was drawn to the song's bright, cheering feel and its lyrics. "The melody has a cheerful, rally-song vibe, and the lyrics with the word 'essential' in them are really pretty," she said. "It was surreal and fun to find myself in a scene I'd only seen in behind-the-scenes clips from idol recording sessions." Lim Hee-jeong said the team is committed to reaching fans beyond the course. "All of us on the Doosan Engineering & Construction team are trying to communicate with our fans in as many ways as possible, not just on the golf course," she said.
