Gyeongbuk Health University trains faculty in AI-assisted student counseling

Gyeongbuk Health University held a two-day summer training program for its lifelong academic advisers Wednesday and Thursday at an integrated lecture room on the second floor of the university's main building, aimed at strengthening student counseling skills through the use of generative AI.

Song Won-sil, a director at the Korea Instructor Education Association, led the sessions on the theme of "AI-assisted career counseling for students."

The program centered on hands-on practice, linking theoretical instruction with real counseling case studies.

Particular emphasis was placed on building both counseling expertise and AI proficiency among the lifelong academic advisers, equipping them to keep pace with the rapidly evolving digital counseling environment.

University President Lee Eun-jik said the school would continue expanding its structured counseling support programs to ensure students receive practical help with career planning and campus life. "We will keep raising the counseling expertise and digital capabilities of our lifelong academic advisers," he said.
