Jeju Shilla Hotel announced Tuesday it will hold a "Chuseok Gourmet Trip," a hansik-focused event targeting travelers visiting Jeju Island during the chuseok holiday.
The hotel will run a limited-time hansik pop-up on its premises from Sept. 24 to Sept. 27, with a different themed menu each day. A live station will also be set up so customers can watch dishes being prepared in real time.
On the opening day, the pop-up will spotlight Jeju local cuisine, featuring dishes such as squid and abalone skewers, Jeju three-color bingteok rolls and Jeju rice makgeolli. On chuseok day itself, the theme shifts to traditional Korean food, with royal-style meat skewers and a clear beef and bracken soup, paired with Jeju beer. The third day will offer a fusion-themed lineup including beef tteokbokki and crispy glazed chicken, while the final day of the holiday weekend returns to Jeju local fare.
To heighten the festive atmosphere, the hotel will place a hanbok-clad Shilla Bear mascot in the third-floor restaurant foyer as a photo opportunity. "We put together this event to offer customers visiting Jeju Island during the chuseok holiday both a diverse culinary experience and a rich holiday atmosphere," a hotel official said.
