Yeungnam University of Science and Technology moves to integrate AI tools in health sciences education

Yeungnam University of Science and Technology held an information session and public hearing on AI learning tools for its health sciences programs Monday at the convention hall on the first floor of Cheonma Square.

The event was organized as part of the university's AID project, with the aim of identifying AI learning tools suited to the professional education environment of health sciences departments and exploring ways to apply them in line with each department's curriculum and course characteristics.

Health and medical education has increasingly demanded not only the acquisition of specialized knowledge but also an understanding of human anatomy and physiology, problem-solving skills grounded in clinical situations, and individualized supplementary learning based on student achievement levels.

The session was attended by President Lee Jae-yong, academic affairs committee members, and faculty from the nursing, physical therapy, dental hygiene, and health administration departments. Three AI companies presented their offerings: Thilon introduced a response strategy for the transition of the nursing national licensing exam to computer-based testing, along with hospital virtual desktop infrastructure case studies; Hakjisa Medical presented its clinical nursing practice platform Nursinglab; and Freewillin showcased Fully Campus, an integrated learning platform covering 3D anatomy and physiology through case-based AI practice.

"We will actively incorporate AI into our curriculum and learning environment so that health sciences students can grow into skilled professionals with a balanced command of both specialized knowledge and on-site capabilities," President Lee Jae-yong said.
